Abstract

Mytilopsis leucophaeata, the brackish water mussel, is used as Model species for the study of biofouling-control in the cooling water conduits at BASF. Knowledge of the population dynamics of the species and the driving forces behind it will result in a more effective use of chemicals, and, if possible, the use of biological methods to control biofouling of M. Leucophaeata
