Abstract

It is expected that ecological networks will yield better survival chances for fragmented plant populations. Results are available for animals, but for plants not much is available. A habitat study for Primula species will be integrated here with a genetic approach and an experimental regeneration study. The consequences of fragmentation will be looked at. Integration of the data in an GIS environment will provide guidelines for the management and planning of small landscape elements in which these plant species occur.
