Abstract

This project builds on previous collaborative actions with the I.I.T.A. and aims at solving the problem of nutrient depletion in West-African soils. This will be achieved through a combination of strategic research on soil organic matter dynamics, on nitrogen dynamics and on phosphorus chemistry in improved cropping systems. Next to this, much attention is directed towards extension and towards extrapolating the findings to other biophysical and cosio-economical environments.
