Abstract
FishBase is a database on biological and applied aspects of all fish species (more than 25.000). Since 2000 it is managed by the FishBase Consortium including FAO, Worldfish Center-Philippines, Royal Museum for Central Africa-Tervuren, Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle-Paris, Swedish Natural History Museum-Stockholm, Institüt für Meereskunde-Germany and University of British Columbia-Canada.
