Abstract

The main objective of this research project is to develop silvicultural orientations in view to integrate technical, economical and ecological finalities in projects of artificial and natural regeneration. The priority is to define silvicultural norms in order to produce quality wood at low cost, in minimum time and while respecting the environment. A forestal and agroforestal demonstration network is developed for 10 species : 8 noble and precious broad-leaved (Sessile oak, Pedunculate oak, Beech, Wild cherry, Common ash, Sycamore maple, Red oak and Black alder) and 2 coniferous species (Norway spruce, Green Douglas-fir). The area studies are located on the provinces of HAINAUT and of NAMUR in Walloon Region.
