Abstract
The nitrogen cycle is studied in grassland and in ley-crop rotations. The research concern mainly plant uptake and nitrate leaching, but in certain cases the whole cycle is studied with labelled 15N. In rotations, the nitrogen amounts available after the destruction of the grassland sward are quantified for the following crops.
