Abstract

a) Recording water chemistry and oxygen data from all lakes visited by Ghen University in the framework of the FWO research project 'Exploration of African crater lakes for paleoclimate research'; b) analysis of subfossil chironomid assemblages in the surface sediments of this lakes; c) development of transfer function models for chironomid-based reconstruction of salinity and deepwater oxygen concentration; d) testing and validation of these models by using them in case studies in selected African lakes.
