The project aims the development of a numerical technique as a basis for the exploitation of abstraction wells for water supply. Emphasis thereby will be placed on the transport and fate of nitrogen as a function of the nitrogen load, the physical, chemical and biological properties of the aquifer system, and the pumping regime. The method will be tested using field data of the PIDPA abstraction site in Olen (Province of Antwerp).
