Increase of small holders income in the lowlands of Mtwara/Lindi regions through increased irrigated rice yield on a sustainable basis. The project aim at strengthening (1) the research capacity on irrigation and rice of ARI Naliendele, (2) the extension services through training, (3) the farmers knowledge through a participatory exchange of skills and at identifying the areas where irrigated rice can be developed.
