Abstract

The main aim of the project is the numerical modelling of the water flow and sulfate transport in variably saturated agricul- tural soils in order to get a better undertanding of the distri- bution of nutrients under furrows in irrigated agricultural land. The modelling will take into consideration the heterogenity of the nutrient distribution in the furrows as a function of bounda- ry conditions and irrigation practice, as well as the spatial variability in soil properties.
