Abstract

The research concentrates on the parameters to be considered in the design and sustainable management of irrigations schemes for Quinoa in the Bolivian Highlands. Dependable rainfall, crop evapotranspiration of Quinoa under standard conditions and under water and salinity stress in the Altiplano are measured in the field and analyzed. It is believed that the results from the study might increase the crop production and will allow a more environmental friendly and sustainable irrigation. The research will be useful not only for the country itself but also for neighboring countries that share similar conditions.
