Abstract

Determination of the Early Palaeozoic basin development in Belgium by litho- and biostratigraphy with Chitinozoa in the Brabant and Condroz massifs, by further calibration of the Chitinozoa biozonation versus the Ordovician and Silurian chronostratigraphy; by establishing a sequence stratigraphical model and subsidence curves for the Lower Palaeozoic in Belgium and by determining the thickness variation in the basins and migrations of depocenters. The deformation history of the Belgian Caledonides is studied by vurther development of the tectonic model, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the deformation by X-ray pole figure goniometry and by development of a new method in Belgium the study of the anisotropy of the magnetic matrix, by the acquisition of a Kappabridge.
