Abstract

The real number of Lactarius species is extimated to be 650 (about 400 species described up to date). This project aims at a monographic study in Europe, tropical Africa, Asia and Australia, essential contributions towards a future world monograph. Special attention will be given to the analysis of micromorphological characters, new infrageneric insights correlated with biogeographic data and the offering of identification tools.
