The project comprises the isolation, characterisation and identification of bacteria originating from probiotic products available on the Belgian market. These bacteria will be detected among the normal human intestinal flora with the use of the DNA fingerprinting method DGGE (Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis), which will first be optimised for these purposes.
