The embryonic development of four nematode species will be reconstructed with 4D-microscopy and transmission electronmicroscopy. The complete cell lineage will be established. These will be compared to study the evolution of embryonic development in the Phylum Nematoda. Certain developmental mechanisms will be studied by experimental manipulation and computer simulations.
