Abstract

During the last decades the surface of species rich herbaceous vegetations of Belgian coastal dune slacks has decreased strongly due to lowering of the groundwater-table and scrub-encroachment. The actual dune management policy is focused on scrub removement. Therefore, the transpiration of as well the herb as the scrub vegetation will be estimated, just as their effect on the groundwater-table.
