Abstract

This project aims at invetsitating how the soil fertility can be increased by incorporatin natural vegetation. Of importance is the capacity for biological nitrogen fixation. It will also investigate the influence of land-use change on the emission of greenhouse gases. In addition, through the project a laboratory will be established for soil analysis and emission of greenhouse ga ses from soils. Several Mexican students and staff members will be trained at the Ghent University.
