The African catfisches of the family Clariidae are characterised by the evolutionary trend towards body elongation. This elongation even proves to have arisen independently several timse within this familiy, as a result of convergent evolution. Using morphological and mophometric approaches, this project will focus on structural transformations of the body plan, especially that related with body elongation and jaw muscle hypertrophy.
