Rationale:
With the herbaria of Frère Onraedt, De Sloover and the late T. Arts, the National Botanic Garden of Belgium has a very rich collection of bryophytes from La Réunion. These data are now being incorporated in Ah-Peng’s study of the bryoflora of La Réunion.

Overall goal:
Several taxa in the herbarium (BR) are new for La Réunion but remained unpublished. These will be studied and accounts of these species published.

Objectives:
Publication of list of Marchantiophyta (hepatics) new for La Réunion present in BR to be presented for publication December 2006; idem for Bryophyta (mosses), presented for publication December 2007.
