Since several years, the Laboratory of Grassland Ecology (UCL) has developed scientific expertise related with biodiversity in the Walloon Region (Belgium). Evaluation of environmental and biodiversity performance is being done in different areas, through ecological network, landscape and soil pollution studies. Most of these studies are developed in cooperation with local communities and other institutions. Amongst others, the Laboratory of Grassland Ecology is responsible already for ten years for the evaluation of the ecological value of the future RAVel network (Réseau Autonome des Voies Lentes/ Slow ways autonomous network). The Laboratory is also in charge of the organisation of informative workshops for future RAVeL managers (Walloon Ministries, local communities).
