Abstract

Mapping of biological and social-economic drivers and consequences of the disappearance of mangroves in Vietnam's most
southern province. These are basic, objective data to establish environmental planning and policy for the area.
Mapping of: land cover and land use changes, surface and well water quality, salinisation, demographic and socio-economic data,
relationships between these factors. Comparison of these data with the 5 year development plan of
Camau. Tese specific aims contribute to planning proposals and conditions to enable a sustainable (long term) use of the
natural resources in this tropical area.
