My research aims to elucidate evolutionary trends and character transformations in flowering plants. Based on a recent molecular framework the phylogenetic significance of selected characters is studied. The anatomical features include wood anatomy, mineral inclusions and intercellular cavities. Moreover, systematic implications of aluminium hyperaccumulating plants are studied within the angiosperms.
