In this project, we study variation in performance, morphology and quantitative genetics within the speckled wood butterfly (Pararge aegeria L.). We will address the question to what extent the flight apparatus of this butterfly is adapted to several functions in its environment. In a next step we look at the heritabilities and genetic correlations of the studied morphological traits and performance measures. Finally, we investigate the consistency of these relationships in a different environment.
