Abstract
Two types of molecular markers are used, dominant markers (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism, AFLP) and codominant markers (SSR also called microsatellites). These markers are routinely used on chicory (Cichorium intybus) and pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan), first for fingerprinting and variety identification.
