Abstract

The research project is a collaborative effort between K.U.L., UCL (Dept. of Geography) and FSAE Gembloux (Dept. of Biochemistry and applied biology). It aims (i) constructing an operational GIS with baseline environmental datasets, (ii) implementing the IPCC suite of emission inventory models for the main greenhouse gases into this framework, (iii) better defining the parameters of the IPCC models, (iv) developing a spatially explicitmodel of land use and management change, (v) constructing a range of plausible future scenario's of environmental change and assess impacts with regard to greenhouse gas fluxes.
