A multidisciplinary study is developed in order to elucidate bioluminescence diversity and evolution through animal kingdom. The comparative study of luminescence in echinoderms and fish represents the major research axis undertake in the laboratory with foreign collaborations. Studies of other luminous organisms from different phyla (Cnidaria, Annelida and Arthropds) are now under consideration in order to complete our approach to improving our understanding of the diversity and evolution of bioluminescence.
