Bioluminescence control mechanisms are studied in different ophiuroids species. Two types of preparations are used (isolated arms segmens and dissociated photocytes) in order to characterize the nature of the control mechanisms (nervous control, importance of ionic movements) and to identify neuromediators involved in luminous control mechanisms.
