Abstract

Different fishes and ophiuroids species are used as models to study bioluminescence control mechanisms. A pluridisciplinary approach is developed in order to characterize how the light is emitted (physiological approach), which organs and/or cells are involve (morphological approach), which biotic or abiotic parameters modulate the light emission (ecological approach) and what is the signification of the light emission (ethological approach).
