The emission of CH4 en N20 from irrigated rice fields is low within a redox potential of +120 till -170 mV. Field experiments as well as greenhouse experiments will be carried out to check the possibility of mitigating the emission of these gases in situ by using this favourable redox potential range. Stable isotopes as well as microbial techniques will be used in this study.
