This study aims at reveaning whether similar developmental mechanisms generate tooth shape diversity within and between species. This study focusses on the zebrafish (heterodont) and eretmodine cichlids (4 species, 6 genetic lineages; homodont). A biometric analysis of tooth shape in the eretmodine taxa should fonfront morphological and molecular data. The second part consists of a developmental study of tooth shape.
