Abstract
This project aims at elaborating scoring systems for macroinvertebrate communities in surface waters in Flanders, to implement the European Water Framework Directive. The research includes a literature review, the elaboration of a typological classification of stagnant and running waters in Flanders, and the definition of references and the elaboration of a scoring system for the different types.
