The purpose of this project was to develop indicators to measure the economic sustainability of Flemish agriculture. We considered two levels: the Flemish agricultural sector as a whole (macro level) and the individual farm (micro level). A macro-economic analysis was performed based on macro-economic data, covering all Flemish farms. The economic performance of individual farms (micro level) was determined by three major themes: (1) efficiency and productivity, (2) profitability and (3) risk. For each theme indicators were developed.
