The ZOOSCAN system allows to digitize and analyze zooplankton images. Data acquired with this system allow an ecological survey of zooplanktonic communities if taxa are also identified. Given the number of items to allocate to different taxa (several hundreds of thousands) in a single series, an automatized method is required. The Numerical Ecology Laboratory develops a library of functions dedicated to this automatic recognition, specific to the ZOOSCAN system.
