Abstract

Development of an integrated spatial information system that correlates simultaneously acquired remotely sensed data and in ditu information with the existing biophysical knowledge on certain plant production systems. A first phase will be focused on economically valuable agricultural production systems such as, among others, viticulture (and the accompanying wine production), fruit cultivation (apples/pears and citurs), etc. Such systems should facilitate the modelling and the steering of the relevant plant growth processes and all that is related therewith, in order to create an absolute added value from the perspective of sustainability and optimized management.
