The fossil floras from Gondwana are poorly known. During the Lower Devonian, the Parana Basin was located at approximately 70°S. Several early land plants localities demonstrate that the Lower Devonian floras were rich and diviersified, despite probable hard climatic conditions. Moreover, the size of some specimens is exceptionnal.
